One Direction is planning to release their second album in November but already the band is revealing details about their new single "Live While We're Young."

The hit will debut on Oct. 1 and the group has worked with songwriters Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk - the team responsible for the band's hits "One thing" and "What Makes You Beautiful," according to MTV.

The site also stated that the new track is set to be "an immediate, energy-packed song mixing rock undertones with smooth harmonies, about living for the moment."

"We wrote an absolutely cracking song that we're all kind of very excited about," One Direction member Niall Horan said in an interview.

The band has been in and out of the studio all summer recording their November released album, which still remains untitled. The October release of the song will come not too long after the band makes their debut performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. One Direction is nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Video for their hit "What Makes Your Beautiful."

The VMAs will air live on Set. 6 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Their debut album, "Up All Night," was released in 2011 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, making them the first British band to enter the chart at that number, according to the Washington Post.

The five friends - Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson -competed separately on the reality competition show "The X Factor" but following a judge's suggestion, they formed a group. The lead single off of their first album, "What Makes You Beautiful" had over 215,000 views on Youtube at the time of publication.
