Criminal Minds To Get Spinoff

A new report revealed that the episode, titled Anonymous, will focus on Rossi's personal life. Last year, it was also revealed that Mantegna would be directing this episode, which will air on January 21.

On November 6, CM_SetReport, the behind-the-scenes twitter account for the show, stated that Mantegna was helming episode 12:

AJ Cook Dishes About "Suspense Factor" In Season 3 Of Criminal Minds

"I spy... At the EP10x12 #criminalminds readthru. EP written by Bruce Z. & @danramm & directed by@joemantegna," the tweet read.

Mantegna had already revealed that he would be directing an episode in season 10 in July, this year. Speaking to Zap2It, the actor revealed that as he will be directing an episode in the next season mid-November and it would air sometime after the holidays this year.

"They asked me if I would do another one, and I agreed, so I'll do that around mid-November, and it will probably air sometime after the holidays," he said. "I have some ideas that I'm going to throw around with them."

While he didn't give away too much he did allude to hoping for a generous budget again, like he did with the first episode he directed in season 9, which involved an expensive sequence featuring a "big crane."

"They gave me a little extra budget on the last one because it was leading into the 200th episode," he said. "I was like, "If I can get a big crane" -- which is a pretty expensive commodity -- "we can do a cool kind of shot at the end." And we were able to do that, which I was happy about."

The next episode, which is also the mid-season premiere, will air in January.

Here's the official synopsis for the episode:

"When frozen bodies are found in Nevada floating in water, the BAU's investigation leads them to suspect that the victims were part of a cult that could be behind the deaths. Also, JJ (A.J. Cook) confronts old demons from her abduction and torture last year. Grant Show guest stars. Faran Tahir returns as Tivon Askari, who abducted JJ last year."

The Forever People will air on January 14, 2015 on CBS.
