Love & Hip Hop New York star Erica Mena has had a few failed relationships on the VH1 show, but now that she is slated to wed actor and rapper Bow Wow, she said she has finally conquered the task of finding "love in hip hop."

She spoke with Madame Noire not too long ago and said that fan will certainly see the love story between her and Bow Wow develop shortly after her dramatic split with Cyn Santana.

"The good thing about this season, even though it's been awhile ago, it's been a year filming. You guys will get to see how the whole breakup went down into how I really found the one."

Mena and Bow Wow surprised their fans when they announced their engagement back in September. Just months before, Mena and Santana were going strong. But their explosive split was aired on a recent episode of the series.

"I finally have the true meaning of what's love & hip hop."

She went on to shut down speculation that she and Bow Wow are faking their romance so she can have a juicy storyline. Mena reminded viewers that critics also did not believe she and Santana were in a serious relationship either.

"At the end of the day people are gonna have their opinions. What people have to give me credit for, no matter who I love I've been brave enough to share it with the world."

Mena added that she has her regrets of the way she and Santana ended things.

"A friendship would've been dope. But I think deep down inside, Cyn now knows everyone she believed wasn't someone to believe. Like I said I'm reliving the past. So I'm like 'whew' I already know what's gonna happen."

She confirmed that this is her last season.
