Fans of Fox's Glee will get a blast from the past on an upcoming episode of the final season that flashes back to 2009.

'Glee's Brittany & Santana Inspire Kurt And Blaine To Get Married As Well?

Fox has released a plot synopsis for the ninth episode of the final season. The episode is titled 2009 and centers on the original glee club members and why they chose to sign up.

"Glee goes back in time to see why the original members of New Directions signed up for glee club in the first place in the all-new 2009 episode," the synopsis reads.

Alongside regulars like Lea Michele (who plays Rachel), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Darren Criss (Blaine) and Chord Overstreet (Sam), the episode will feature a slew of guest stars from the original cast, including Mark Salling (Puck), Kevin McHale (Artie), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) and Jayma Mays (Emma).

With Glee winding down to its final episodes, it is only appropriate that the show will be reminiscing on its past to give devoted fans some closure. The musical series has diverged slightly from its original premise over the past few seasons, but this final season is centering things back in McKinley High.

This episode might be a tearjerker, especially since late star Cory Monteith (who played Finn) was so important to the show's beginning.

The 2009 episode is slated to air on Friday, Feb. 27 in its regular 9 p.m. timeslot.

Glee airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
