To this day, Bob Marley's music still speaks volumes.
Today we celebrate the prophet's birthday and eagerly await the February 17 debut of Easy Skanking In Boston '78, a multimedia extravaganza of Bob Marley's previously unreleased audio and video treasures.
Marley would have turned 70 today and his family is honoring the icon through a yearlong celebration.
The Marley family gave UMe (a division of the Universal Music Group) unprecedented access for the first time to material from their private collections and vaults. Future releases will be announced throughout the year, but the first release on the schedule is Bob Marley & The Wailer's Easy Skanking In Boston '78, which has new, completely unreleased material available for the first time in any format.
Easy Skaning in Boston '78 contains video shot on handheld camera by a fan who Marley allowed to sit right in front of the stage. The result is remarkably intimate footage capturing Marley (on film!) from just a few feet away. Check out the trailer of the video (below).
