The celebrities dazzled and stunned as they graced the red carpet at the 2015 Grammy Awards, there was a whole lot of black and some stars chose the right measure of inventive to make it to our best dresses list.

Beyonce and Madonna looked drop-dead-gorgeous in their black gowns. Beyonce showed off her curves in a shimmering dress with sheer patches defined by a foliage design. Madonna looked classy in her attire which mixed elements, of punk rock aesthetics. She topped off the black bodice-piece with a veiled hat, looking like a cross between a dominatrix and an attendee at a funeral.

Other winners in black featured Ciara, who wore a flowy  dress, which gave the impression of blossoming and twirled at the bottom, Nicki Minaj, who falunted her cleavage in a heavily-sequinned draping. Miley Cyrus down-played the shock-factor she has become famouse for in recent years, wearing a nicely-cut black gown. Sia adorned a sharp black suit and as expected she was wearing platinum blonde wig, with a heavy fringe covering the upper half of her face. The prodigious Maddy Ziegler, famous for her performance in the video of Sia's Chandelier was dressed in a siminal suit but her hair allowed for her face to be seen.

And now for the more colorful lot. Kim Kardashian looked all glossed up in a bronze colored robe-like attire, hinged at the waist. Iggy Azalea had on a clean cut blue dress, with Tom Jones giving her company in a suit of the same color. Although, lesser known, but the new wonder kids of indie-rock, the sisters from Haim got sassed up for the red carpet, wearing very distinct attires, each making a statement in its own way.

Of the men John Legend looked sharp in a grey suit, Blake Lively kept it casual formal pairing a three piece on the top with a pair of denims. Kanye West complimented his wife Kardashian, wearing all black.
