The NCIS episode that aired Tuesday night took Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) back in time to his younger years.

Cadence gave insight into Tony as a teen when he attended a military academy, Remington Military Academy, since the NCIS team had to return to his alma mater for a case involving the murder of a Marine who also attended the military academy.

Tanner Stine portrayed teenaged Tony and Weatherly was thoroughly impressed with Stine's depiction. 

'NCIS' Cast Shares Insight From The Set

Weatherly revealed on Twitter after the episode aired, "he did a most excellent job."

He even included a photo of him with Stine from set when they filmed the episode.

Stine felt flattered by Weatherly's kind words.

"Such an honor to be a part of it all!" he gushed after revealing he loves the photo Weatherly shared of them.

He was really thrilled with the way the episode turned out.

"Sooo crazy to see the final product. Thanks a ton for the support," he dished.

Weatherly even spoke with ET hours before the episode aired and praised Stine there too.

"I think what's nice about it is he makes me look much tougher, smarter and better looking," Weatherly beamed.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
