Longmire will begin production for its fourth season in March, but the series is still waiting for Netflix to announce a premiere date.

'Longmire' Stars Breaking From Production To Attend Tucson Festival Of Books?

Depending on how Netflix decides to release the program, the popular crime drama could be looking at a start date early as this spring. If one episode is released per week, then it shouldn't take long for the series to get up and running. After all, Longmire played with this schedule for three years on A&E.

What might delay the premiere, however, is if Netflix decides to release the whole season at one time.

Does Warner Bros. Have A Big Plan For 'Longmire'?

According to Den Of Geek on Jan. 30, Netflix intends to release the new season of the critically acclaimed House of Cards all together. This means fans would able to binge watch the whole season the moment it premieres. If the same happens for Longmire, then the show could be looking at a much later air date, perhaps towards the end of 2015 or even the beginning of 2016.

Longmire hit a major speed bump in 2014 when A&E elected to drop the series following its third season. Fans flocked to defend the show, starting petitions and online campaigns to keep their favorite series alive. The campaigning worked and in November Netflix announced that it would be reviving the program.

Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
