Don Draper is definitely "going somewhere" during the final episodes of AMC's Mad Men this spring.

'Mad Men' Suffers A 'Love Hangover' In New Trailer

The latest poster for the ad agency drama was released this week and featured a serious looking Don (Jon Hamm) smoking a cigarette and driving away from the glittering city.

"It is designed to tell you that Don is going somewhere," creator Matthew Weiner explained of the poster during an interview with Vulture on Monday. "He could be going to work, he could be going away from work. But there is a feeling of, I hope, a little bit of a desperate drive."

What The Latest 'Mad Men' Photos Say About The Final Season

Weiner emphasized that the poster is meant to show that Don is "alone" and that the upcoming episodes will demonstrate "a sense of motion" for him. So will his journey bring him closer to the people he loves or farther from them? Is Don at last headed towards peace? For so long Don has been isolated. He's torn apart his own relationships and failed to connect on a meaningful level. If he's ever going to get redemption, not would certainly be the time for it.

As the new promotional photos and teasers begin to roll in, fans are finally beginning to get a sense of how those last episodes will feel. Nonetheless, even as Weiner spoke about Don in that car he was careful as to not give too much away.

"It's an abstract image," noted Weiner, "But it is not an abstract photo."

Mad Men will return on AMC for the remainder of its seventh season on Sunday, April 5.
