In an NFC battle, the Green Bay Packers (1-1) will face the Seattle Seahawks (1-1) at Century Link Field on the Sept. 24th edition of Monday Night Football. The respective matchup will be especially crucial for the Seahawks, who are looking to make an early statement in the 2012 season. On the other hand, the Packers are looking to gain early momentum at the start of their four game road trip.

For Seattle's offense to be effective, they must properly utilize running back Marshawn Lynch's running game. Thus far in the season, the youngster has been primarily used in early downs to take the pressure off of rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, which has allowed him to succeed in one of his strengths, play-action passing. If the Seahawk's back can average over five yards, then Green Bay's defense may have their work cut out for them in terms of Wilson's other offensive options go

Due to the loss of linebacker Desmond Bishop before the season's start, the Packers will start D.J. Smith alongside A.J. Hawk against the Seahawks offense. Green Bay's secondary tandem must minimize Seattle's overall running game in order to put the proper pressure on Wilson.

The Packers will also have outside linebacker Clay Matthews to add some muscle to the defense. Through the first two games of the season, he has compiled six sacks, which arguably makes him the best defender in the NFL at the current time.

Seattle's left tackle Russell Okung should be the one to stack up against Matthews most of the night. Hence, he must effectively plug the left side of the front line in order to prevent the OLB from rushing the passer. However, Okung is nursing a knee bruise, which could put him and his quarterback Wilson at more of a disadvantage against the Green Bay secondary.

Although the Seahawks have the home advantage in the matchup. Green Bay will still have the edge behind Aaron Rogers and the rest of the offense.
