She has had to fake her death in order to avoid going back to prison for murder, but Ava (Maura West) could make a risky decision in order to ensure her daughter doesn't wind up being cared for by someone she doesn't approve of on General Hospital.

A Surprising Twist Changes The Course Of Avery's Custody Battle

When she learned that her baby daughter Avery was going to be at the memorial service being held for her one block away from where she was hiding in New York, Ava listened in on what everyone had to see about her from outside the bar. Now, after the crowds have cleared out and her mother, Delia (Ilene Kristen) is the only one left with Avery, Ava will make her ill-advised appearance, proving she isn't really dead.

"Hello mother," she says to Delia in a preview clip for the Thursday, March 5 episode.

The Custody Battle For Avery Heats Up

Not only will Delia be shocked to see her daughter actually alive and well, but she will be baffled as to why she is keeping the truth a secret from her loved ones as well-but what Ava decides to do now that she has revealed her cover to someone could be even more surprising.

She is unlikely to try and kidnap her daughter and go on the run, because if she is caught, she will not only be sent back to prison for murder, but for kidnapping as well. However, she could try and convince her mother to shake up the custody battle proceedings back in Port Charles.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Michael (Chad Duell) are currently duking it out in court to see who should have custody of the little girl, and Ava isn't happy that either one could be the one caring for her daughter. As a result, she may try and convince her mother to head to the town with the baby-and file her own petition for custody.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
