"I'm always impressed by Lady Gaga's talents, and the fact that she branching out beyond what people know her for," Harris said. "It's a bold move, and there's no better show to surprise people with than American Horror Story."

Harris surprised people himself with his guest starring role in American Horror Story: Freak Show last season. The actor played Chester, a ventriloquist who had an unhealthy relationship with his puppet, Marjorie.

It remains to be seen if Harris will be joining Gaga in the next season of American Horror Story, subtitled Hotel. There has been relatively little information about the new season, other than the big news of Gaga's casting and the concept title.

It is also unknown if Gaga will have a starring role akin to Jessica Lange status or if she will have a smaller role, though it has been confirmed that she will be a series regular.

American Horror Story: Hotel is expected to air in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
