NCIS star Sean Murray who portrays Timothy McGee on the series loves interacting with fans on Twitter and he recently dished about filming the hit CBS show.

On March 4 a curious fan of the series asked Murray how long it takes to shoot each episode.

"[E]ach episode takes 8 working days to film," the actor revealed.

A different fan asked more about filming in terms of how many hours a day are worked.

"[E] ach day we usually shoot somewhere between 11 and 14 hrs," Murray dished along with mentioning he sometimes doesn't leave set until the mornings.

The actor revealed to another fan asking about filming episodes that they always try to start shooting by 7 in the morning.

Another fan commented on loving when Murray's character wears a purple button down shirt on the show.

Murray let the fan in on a set secret that many of those who are on set daily "love that shirt too".

Murray also revealed his favorite shirt that McGee wears is "the red one".

The actor also reminisced about working with Sasha Alexander who portrayed Kate Todd on NCIS from 2003 to 2005, when she died in the episode called Twilight from Season 2.

Murray revealed that filming Twilight was "kinda tough" since the cast knew that was Alexander's last time with the rest of them, but he did mention Alexander did return to film a few episodes at the start of Season 3.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

A new episode will air on March 10.
