The premiere episode for "The Mindy Project" aired on FOX on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

The new series packed punch for its great story writing and offensive jokes, which made for great comedy.

Mindy Kaling plays Dr. Mindy Lahiri, a 31-year-old OB/GYN who is successful and works long hours but fails to land a long-term suitor for herself.

Throughout the episode, she promised to make all the necessary changes to get a boyfriend. She declared she will lose weight, read more books, and become punctual in daily phone conversations with friends who have staged an intervention to help her become more relationship-worthy.

Early in the episode, Dr. Lahiri attended her ex-boyfriend's wedding and made an inappropriate toast.

"Tom told me -- when we were having sex -- that he wanted to marry me and make me pregnant with six babies," she announced.

After downing too much alcohol at the ceremony, she attempted to ride a bike home while drunk. She fell into a pool and was later arrested.

One of the show's main stars is her British co-worker Jeremy, who takes advantage of her loneliness every chance he could get - they made out in her office and the episode ended with him coming to her apartment to sleep with her.

Another co-worker, Danny, is a OB/GYN who stole her patients and insulted her at every given opportunity. When Dr. Lahiri showed off her outfit to the receptionists for a blind date, Danny told her she was overdressed and needed to lose weight.

Before she met the date, Kaling stated this one of too many jokes during the show:

"Dear Lord, please let this date be good. May he have the wealth of Mayor Bloomberg, the personality of Jon Stewart, the face of Michael Fassbender, the ... penis of Michael Fassbender."

To her dismay, she had to end the said blind date earlier than planned: she received a call at the restaurant that a patient was ready to deliver a baby and needed her assistance.

"Max, I am on a date right now. Do you know how difficult it is for a chubby 31-year-old woman to go on a legit date with a guy who majored in economics at Duke?" she told the patient's son.

The date was a finance guy played by "Hangover" star Ed Helms. Dr. Lahiri considered him "the perfect guy" after he passed a series of tests written in her iPhone.

The series is created and written by Mindy Kaling ("The Office") Howard Klein ("The Office," "Parks and Recreation") and Matt Warburton ("THE SIMPSONS.")

"The Mindy Project" airs on Fox on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET.
