If Tony Tost let his sons take control of the writer's room, Longmire would be a very different series.

Production is set to begin on Monday, but on Friday the writer posted a message on Twitter informing fans that his sons have a special request for season four: They want characters based on them.

Considering how wrong "dragon and zombie" battles would look on the crime drama, it seems that Tost's little boys are out of luck.

The show's new season will be seeing some changes this year, even if those changes don't include epic ninja battles. The crime drama is preparing to make its debut on Netflix, which picked up the series in November following A&E's shocking cancellation of the program.

A life on Netflix means a few changes for the show. Each episode will run ten minutes longer, commercial free, and writers have been provided with more freedom regarding content. There are no longer the same restrictions on nudity, violence, and language as there were when the show was on A&E.

Whether or not Tost and the other writers have elected to exercise this freedom, however, has yet to be determined.

Longmire will return for a fourth season on Netflix something at the beginning of this fall.
