A recent review for Furious 7 reiterates the movie's main qualities lie in bringing out the emotional facets of love and family, which were necessitated by its intention to pay tribute to the late Paul Walker.

Furious 8 To Be Set In New York City?

The A.V. Club states that the film emerges on top because of this characteristic and also that it is probably one of the better of the Fast and Furious movies, standing alongside the first one:

"Furious 7 most differentiates itself from its predecessors by unexpected necessity, parlaying the films' incessant talk of loyalty and family into a touching tribute to Walker, delivered with rumbling sincerity by that old softie Vin Diesel. The series will doubtless continue on with Diesel, Rodriguez, Johnson, and the rest, but in the meantime, Furious 7 comes to the most conclusive and emotionally satisfying ending since, fittingly, the very first film."

Making Of Airborne Car Drop Scene In Furious 7 Revealed

This follows what most critics have been saying about the movie. Previous reviews have unanimously appreciated how the movie has managed to pull off a tribute to Walker, and give his character Brian O'Connor a seamleassly written send off, without letting the glitches and massive issues the production face show at any point. But the reviews suggest that the awareness of Walker's death does charge the movie with a sadness, something which was out of the filmmaker's control.

Furious 7 hits theaters on April 3, 2015.
