Get ready to survive Bear Grylls' return to television.

The British adventurer, famous for his role on the Discovery Channel show "Man vs. Wild", is coming back for a network reality competition show.

Grylls made a deal with NBC to make a show similar to CBS's hit "Survivor." The working title of his new show is the ominously-sounding "Get Out Alive." According to NBC, the show will "test teams of two beyond their most extreme imaginations."

NBC has ordered a total of eight episodes for the series which will premiere in the summer of 2013. The show is also being co-produced by Bear Grylls Ventures and Ben Silverman's Electus.

"To meet Bear is to meet a force of nature," stated Paul Telegdy, NBC alternative president. He continued: "He is a magnetic and charismatic talent, whose infectious enthusiasm for adventure inspires people to push themselves beyond their limits. These contestants are in for the ride of their lives!"

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Grylls said about the show: "Get Out Alive will be raw, tough and unrelenting, but it will also inspire and teach the essentials that one day may just save your life. The goal is to empower people with the ultimate in both survival and teamwork, and that brings incredible reward... but first there must be some pain."

America got its first taste of Grylls when he debuted on Discovery's "Man vs. Wild" in 2006. The show featured the former British special forces soldier surviving the treacherous terrain of locations around the world. After seven seasons, Discovery ended the show in March 2011. Since then, Grylls has become the spokesperson and endorser for Degree men's deodorant and Dockers.
