Finn Wittrock was one of the breakout stars on FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show, but will he return for season 5?

Wittrock memorably played petulant man-child Dandy Mott in Freak Show, a character who quickly became a fan favorite. The actor received much praise for adding a delightfully twisted element to the season.

Now, it is still unknown if Wittrock is returning for season 5, titled Hotel, though the actor is certainly hinting that he might be. The actor spoke with Out Magazine recently and discussed executive producer Ryan Murphy's casting decisions.

Vote: Which is Jessica Lange's Best 'American Horror Story' Character?

"He's kept a lot of actors in the dark so far," Wittrock said of Murphy. However, with Murphy's love of bringing actors back, he will always be part of the family. "I'm stuck! [Laughs] Like I say, Ryan's very loyal," he said, noting that he might be back.

The 30-year-old actor had a memorable scene in Freak Show in which Dandy viciously murdered Matt Bomer's character Andy. With Bomer now being cast as a series regular in Hotel, Wittrock said that he might be okay with the roles reversing.

"That might be in the cards," Wittrock said, of Bomer's character potentially killing Wittrock's character.

It would certainly be interesting to see Wittrock in Hotel interacting with Bomer again. Hotel is set to star Bomer, Lady Gaga, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny.

American Horror Story: Hotel is expected to premiere in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
