Cadillac has officially released their new CT6 luxury sedan and the new vehicle made its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show.

The new CT6 model offers consumers new state of the art luxury features that will surely challenge its German counterpart.

On Wednesday, Car Scoop online reported that Mark Reuss, the man who oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, was present at the auto show and he believes that the new model will rival against top tier vehicles such as the BMW, the Audi and the Mercedes.

"I think Cadillac is a smart buy in whatever segment we're in there. The dramatic styling is going to be very important. We know how to make pretty amazing ride-and-handling and performance cars out of Cadillac's, too."

CT6 head engineer Travis Hester points out a few brand new features that he believes will put the car on the map.

Aside from the new dynamic design, Hester said that the new model is one of a kind because of the combination of lightweight materials and advanced casting technology.

Consumers can expect that the new model will be optimized with state of the art wheels and suspension, which will give the car the ability to reproduce driving characteristics of a smaller vehicle.

The engine will feature a power chain option and a range-topping twin turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 producing 400 horsepower.

Reuss believes that the future of GM is very right and adds that Cadillacs are guaranteed to give a dynamic performance.

"Creating what Cadillac should be in the future for the future generation is what we're trying to do there."
