The X Factor New Zealand is welcoming a new judge who dished on her excitement to be part of the singing competition.

Willy Moon Opens Up On 'X Factor New Zealand' Bullying Scandal

On Sunday, Stuff posted an interview with Natalie Bassingthwaighte who will be joining the series to replace Natalia Kills who was let go after bullying a contestant. The new judge told the publication how she found out she was going to appear, which came at a pretty exciting time.

"I was asked my interest and spoke to the producers, then discussed with my husband to see if we could even make it work," the 39-year-old said. "Negotiations took place and then...I found out it was happening and [flew straight to New Zealand]! One crazy week. My first live show was that Sunday!"

Natalia Kills & Willy Moon Fired From 'X Factor New Zealand' For Taking Criticism Too Far

As a singer, Bassingthwaighte will probably know her information when it comes to being a great performer. But the woman has taken a break from belting out her voice with no official word if she'll get back to it.

"I've kind of stepped back from that a little bit," she said. "I was thinking at the beginning of last year that it's something that I wanted to do and then last year was a bit tough for me. I had a lot of personal things. I just felt that it was all happening and then I just felt I couldn't do it any more."
