Sarah Paulson will apparently be playing a very different type of role in FX's American Horror Story: Hotel.

Which of Sarah Paulson's 'American Horror Story' Characters Is Best?

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy officially confirmed on Twitter Monday afternoon that Paulson would be part of AHS: Hotel. He also added a very special message that has American Horror Story fans excited.

"Sarah Paulson is checking into 'Hotel.' And this season, she's the baddest bad girl of them all," Murphy revealed.

The tweet has already been re-tweeted and favorited by thousands of accounts, with many fans expressing their elation that she will be part of the new season.

Murphy's message that Paulson's is playing the "baddest bad girl of them all" is quite a departure from who she usually plays on the horror anthology series. The actress has never played an outright villain in her four seasons with the show, so this should be a fun departure.

In the first season, Paulson played Billie Dean Howard, a psychic with ambition but not much evil intention. Lana Winters in Asylum was not particularly evil though she did have some shadings as the season went along. Cordelia in Coven was a very positive role as the supportive headmistress. And Bette and Dot Tattler were murderers in Freak Show, but we were meant to sympathize with them.

Paulson joins an ever-expanding group of cast members for Hotel, including Kathy Bates, Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny.

American Horror Story: Hotel airs in October on FX, though the network has not yet revealed the specific premiere date.
