Showtime unveiled the first teaser for season 3 of Ray Donovan on April 11 and it runs with the tagline: "Bet on Ray."

Season 3 Will Not Be About The Donovan Family

We get our first glimpses at Ray (Liev Schreiber) back in the business of endangering his life for others. There is a bit of a philosophical inspiration behind this clip. New character Malcolm Finney played by Ian McShane is seen talking to Ray.

"Kafka once wrote that in a man's struggle against the world, bet on the world, you agree?" he dryly asks.

Mad Men Star Joins Cast Of Ray Donovan For Season 3

Ray curtly says, "No."

In the 30 seconds we see Ray being hauled by a bunch of masked men, held at gun point. Then in another frame Ray is seen taking someone down, giving him a brutal beating in an empty parking lot.

This teaser gives away very few spoilers, but we do get a first look McShane's character.

The major, and most talked about, cast addition to this season has been Katie Holmes. The Daily Mail revealed that Holmes will be playing the part of Paige, "wealthy and shrewd businesswoman who uses the 'fixer' services provided" by Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber).

Other guest stars include The Bold and the Beautiful alum Jack Wagner, playing the part of Sandy Patrick, "an obnoxious and self-important game show host." It was previously reported that Cheryl Ladd, best known for her role as Kris Munroe in the Charlie's Angels TV series, will also be guest starring and according to Variety, Wagner and Ladd will be sharing screen time. Ladd is also set to portray a game show hostess, Tina Harvey. Both have been cast opposite each other for their character arcs.

Season 3 of Ray Donovan will premiere on July 12 at 9 pm on Showtime.
