Rihanna, Robert Pattinson, Singer Addresses Hookup Rumor To Vogue
Rihanna graces the cover of the upcoming issue of Vogue magazine and the "Diamonds" singer addressed the rumor of an alleged romance with "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson.
An excerpt from Rihanna's Vogue cover story was released and in the preview, Vogue exposed the response the journalist received when the magazine addressed the Pattinson hookup.
When asked if there was any truth to the alleged hookup, Rihanna described the reports as "the most b*llsh*t ever."
"There were tabloid reports that Rihanna was flirting by text with Pattinson," wrote the reporter. "When I relayed this rumor to Rihanna before the VMAs, she expressed horror and pronounced it 'the most bulls**t ever,' but she also seemed amused."
The reporter then described an eyewitness account of when Rihanna bumped into Pattinson backstage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
"Later that night she will bump into the actor Robert Pattinson, who is here to promote the final 'Twilight' film, unaccompanied by his costar Kristen Stewart," the article stated. "No two private lives in the universe are subjected to as much daily rumormongering as Rihanna's and Pattinson's, and watching their encounter in the hallway is like witnessing the collision of gossip planets."
When the run-in occurred, the writer revealed that "Pattinson lowers his head and smiles. Rihanna gives him an innocent hug and pushes on. The exchange is shorter than three seconds."
The excerpt also offered Rihanna's answer as to what she thinks of her fans not understanding how she could reconcile with Chris Brown after their infamous 2009 incident when he assaulted her.
"The world hasn't let go," she told Vogue. "They haven't seen any progress in our friendship, because they don't see anything. But they're not on the inside. They can't see what I see, unless they're sitting in my point of view. I guess I'll learn to accept that.'
The pop singer told the writer about being single and her desire to date.
"I would love to go on a date. You don't think that? I'm a woman. A young woman, vibrant, and I love to have fun," she said.
Rihanna and the 26-year-old British hunk became romantically linked a month after he split with Kristen Stewart.
Hollywood Life reported in August that Rihanna began texting Pattinson after his breakup. A source claimed that Rihanna has always had a liking toward Pattinson.
"She got Rob's phone number from a mutual friend and has been sending him sexy, funny texts to cheer him up," the source said.
"They've met several times at award bashes over the years," another source, a friend of the "S&M" singer, reportedly told OK! magazine. "RiRi thinks he's very cute, but nothing ever came of it because he was attached to Kristen - and it's not her style to steal someone else's man."
The November 2012 issue of Vogue magazine is Rihanna's second Vogue cover. She also appeared on the April 2011 cover of the magazine, where she wore a sequined figure-hugging gown with bright red hair.
Rihanna was clearly excited by her second Vogue cover - she tweeted the cover with the following caption to her mother: "Mama I made it! Here's #2."
