Actress Mo'Nique is still set on proving that Empire co-creator Lee Daniels originally wanted her (not Taraji P. Henson) to play Cookie in the hit series. While some may have brushed off her claims in the past, it looks like she won this round.

Mo'Nique brought proof (literally) to an interview she had with Sway In The Morning on Monday in hopes to set the record straight once and for all.

She had on hand an email exchange between herself and a representative for the director. It looks like the interaction started on Feb. 18 of 2014.

Host Sway read the email that said, "We would like to screen test her for the role of 'Cookie.' Please contact us with her television quotes, so that we can start a test, option, deal. We are tentatively looking at Monday, Feb 24 for the screen test." But of course it didn't end there.

Sway then read an email that was sent on March 3, 2014. It was from a rep for Daniels who said Fox wanted to give the role to Henson instead.

"Unfortunately it's not going any further for Mo'Nique. Lee fought for her because he thought she would be great for the pilot but studio and network executives insisted on offering the role to Taraji."

It's not clear what happened between the 24th and the 3rd. Still, it seems they were being as pilot as possible when letting Mo'Nique down.

The email ended with, "thank you so much for providing us with her information. Sorry it didn't work out. We're all big fans of hers."
