With all of the drama surrounding Apollo Nida and his legal woes, fans might have forgotten about Phaedra Parks' lawsuit against a woman who wrote a book that Parks was involved with Nida's previous scandal; well now an update on that case has been released.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported earlier this week that a judge ruled in Parks' favor after the woman, Angela Stanton, attempted to have Parks' case dismissed.

Parks is suing for libel. She first filed the case back in 2012 after Stanton penned and released a series of essays called Lies Of A Real Housewife. They were published on Vibe magazine's digital site. In the articles Stanton outlines Parks' alleged involvement in Stanton and Nida's racketeering swindle that mainly involved auto theft.

Those charges put Nida behind bars from 2004-09. He married Parks shortly after. But his criminal past resurfaced when he was taken into custody for another scam that took place in 2013. It included identity theft and brought in nearly $2.5 million. He was sentenced to eight years in federal prison. He's currently serving that sentence in Lexington, Ky.

James Radford, who legally represents Stanton, made claims that Parks tossed out her right to take legal action because she did not answer questions when asked if she took part in the illegal activities with Stanton as Stanton wrote.

After the judge ruled in Parks' favor, Radford said, "We'll just take our case to court."

But the head of Parks' legal team Paul Andrew countered that and said that the only questions she shied away from answering were the irrelevant ones concerning Nida.
