Many Netflix users are catching up with Bloodline, the streaming site's newest addictive drama, and the show's creators are revealing what's in store for season 2 in 2016.

'Bloodline' Has Many Hollywood Stars Buzzing On Twitter

HUGE Bloodline spoilers (for the end of season 1) ahead:

Fans who have already watched the first season of Bloodline may be concerned about where the show will go now that its most intriguing character, Danny Rayburn (Ben Mendelsohn) is dead. The "black sheep" of the family was killed by his own brother, John Rayburn (Kyle Chandler), in the second to last episode.

Bloodline creators Todd A. Kessler and Glenn Kessler recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the second season of the family drama and how Danny's death acts as a "launch" for the rest of the series.

"We're now at the starting point where this story can launch from," Todd said. "And its taking not only the audience but the characters on this tremendous ride to get to this place where they have an understanding of why their siblings have done what they've done in relation to Danny."

With the specter of Danny still in the air, the second season is expected to continue with its fast-paced thriller status, which was present in the final episodes of season 1.

"We knew we were taking our time with the storytelling and as the season progressed, it turns into a thriller. So in the second season, we're no longer in that place," Todd said. "There's a very hot opposition out there that they have killed someone. I think that we now have greater flexibility in our story because something we already know has hugely happened for these characters."

Despite the lack of Danny as a source of conflict, the series may eventually become a matter of every Rayburn sibling for him or herself.

"Each of these characters and each of these actors have moved them to a place where you can absolutely see how the day comes, several seasons down the line, where it's every man for himself," Glenn said.

As long as Bloodline continues to be popular with Netflix users, the show's creators will keep making it - or at least until it hits the sixth season.

"When we sold the series, we sold concepts for six seasons, and it's really a deep dive into further relationships in the family," Todd said.

Bloodline season 1 is currently available to stream in full on Netflix. Season 2 will be released "probably sometime in May" of 2016, according to Todd.
