After making a statement on the tragic death of actor Sawyer Sweeten, Ray Romano has been spotted in public.

Sawyer Sweeten Reportedly Commits Suicide

On Monday, Daily Mail posted a photo of the Everybody Loves Raymond star who was grieving over the death of his fellow actor from the popular sitcom. Romano showed up to the 12th Annual Stuart House Benefit in West Hollywood with his wife, Anna.

He was spotted in what appeared to be a serious moment although the site mentioned that he was in "good spirits." He arrived to the benefit that is meant to help sexually abused children and their families.

Ray Romano Mourns Death Of Sawyer Sweeten

Sweeten played Geoffrey, Romano's on-screen son on the classic TV series. He died on Thursday at the age of 19 when he reportedly shot himself on the front of his family's front porch, according to Philly.com.

Romano made a statement to E! Online regarding the tragedy.

"(I am) shocked and terribly saddened (by the news). He was a wonderful and sweet kid to be around. Just a great energy whenever he was there. My heart breaks for him, his family and his friends during this very difficult time."

Actress Doris Roberts, who played Marie on the show, announced Sweeten's death on her Facebook page.

"He was a very sweet young man who will be dearly missed," the actress added. "Make sure your loved ones know how much you care about them, and please check in with them if you haven't touched base with them for a while."
