It's been one of the most twisted murder mystery series this summer, and according to the show's star, the Secrets and Lies season finale will be an ending that fans never saw coming.

Ryan Phillippe, who has portrayed the show's star, Ben Crawford, stopped by The View April 28 to talk about the show's final episode, and dished that things would be heartbreaking for the show's rabid fans--and admitted he does know who will be unmasked as the murderer.

"First of all I do, at this stage I would hope so," he said. "The finale is pretty devastating, that's what I would say. If you've watched the show up until this point, and you're invested, you'll be affected for sure. So take from that whatever you will."

Phillippe's character has been the focus of the investigation on the show throughout the season, until the penultimate episode, where Detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis) began suspecting that Tom's killer was not his father--but someone female.

Phillippe also dished on how much fun he was having watching the show and learning about exactly what fans were speculating.

'What's been so much fun for me, doing primarily film, is this interaction with fans on social media, and this fan base that's still growing...this week we hit a series high in ratings and we're almost finished," he said. "It's pretty cool. But to see all the theories people have and the arguments, even my parents...I called my parents after this last episode and they were in mid-argument about who. And I think they're kind of fishing for an answer but I won't give it to them."

The Secrets and Lies season finale airs Sunday, May 3 at 9 p.m.
