Falling Skies' 2nd Mass will have two of their very own super soldiers as they enter the final season.

'Falling Skies' Season 5: No Beamers, No Mechs, Just An 'Enormous Amount Of Skitters', Drew Roy Teases New Battle Strategy

Ben Mason (Connor Jessup) and his harness spikes have proved more than just a little helpful, giving the teen everything from healing properties to super strength to unparalleled endurance. Now that Tom's (Noah Wyle) middle child has so generously shared his alien tech with Maggie (Sarah Carter), the 2nd Mass has an extra secret weapon in their ever-shrinking arsenal.

"This season is all about the spikes for Maggie," Carter stated at Wondercon 2015. "The fact that she's got these super powers, or super strength, makes her quite valuable to the 2nd Mass and puts her out in the field in a way that she really appreciates and the 2nd Mass really appreciates."

'Falling Skies' Season 5: Hal, Ben & Maggie Love Triangle Gets A Fourth Member, Drew Roy Explains

Unfortunately, the spikes also had unintended repercussions. Forging a connection between Ben and Maggie, the spinal saviors sparked a love triangle between Hal (Drew Roy), Maggie, and Ben. All three will have to work together during season 5, giving the Mason brothers more time to sort out their love lives.

"She gets to work side-by-side with Ben and they have a good rhythm going," Carter teased. "She also gets to work with Ha and they get to kind of work out that anxiety or tension by just doing what they're here to do."
