'Agent Carter' Season 2: Hayley Atwell Dishes On Peggy's Family, Future Love Interest

After eight-episodes of pulse-pounding 1940's action, Peggy Carter and Jarvis will return to fight the evils of post-WWII America for sophomore run, according to Entertainment Weekly. The highly anticipated renewal came down from the Marvel/ABC partnership late on Thursday, accompanied by a season 3 pickup for Agents of SHIELD.

The series' mediocre ratings have had viewers biting their nails since "Valediction" closed out the freshman run in February. Now, the cast and crew have taken to Twitter to celebrate their hard won victory.

"You guys made this happen! You fans and loyal supporters," Murry wrote. "Thankyou Friends. Gonna a be a wild ride!"

Atwell, D'Arcy, Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark), and Lyndsy Fonseca (Angie) have yet to weigh in on the renewal.

ABC has not yet announced how many episodes will comprise the second season. If the network is looking to once more air Agent Carter over Agents of SHIELD's winter hiatus, the series may receive another eight episodes.
