A new preview for season 3 of Ray Donovan properly introduces Katie Holmes' character Paige Finney on the Showtime series.

Mad Men Star Joins Cast For Season 3 Of Ray Donovan

Footage of some of Paige's moments from the next chapter are interspersed with Holmes talking about the nature and role of her character. Another new character on the series will be Paige's father, Andrew Finney, played by Ian McShane. Ray assists Andrew in his dealings, and Paige is frustrated about her stunted role in the family business. Sparks of the friction between her and her father are seen in the footage shown in the clip, which was revealed by People.

"Paige is a complicated business woman struggling to find her own power within her family," Holmes says.

"The Finney family is a very powerful family," she says. "They serve as a symbol of big money and big business."

In another clip from the show, Ray is seen telling Paige that he works for her father's business and he has a good deal going on there. But Paige seems to be determined to trump her father, and lets Ray know that she can make him a better deal, and asks him to simply name his price. It seems like Ray will give in and work for Paige. The actress goes on to suggest that that's where the trouble will begin.

"Paige gets tangled up with Ray in her business dealings," Holmes says.

Holmes also reveals that her character is "tough" and "not afraid of anyone."

Season 3 of Ray Donovan will premiere on July 12 at 9 pm on Showtime.
