Rumors are beginning to splurge on the canceled wedding of Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer.

According to Tuesday's post from Hollywood Life, headlines are saying that Meyer may have 'secret wives' stashed away, being a reason for calling their big day off. But Bristol's politician mother, Sarah Palin, has helped clear up these crazy stories with a statement from her daughter.

"Regarding salacious headlines in recent days about 'secret wives,' Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement," Bristol said, posted on her mom's Facebook page. "Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers. As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected at this time by those with decency. Thank you!"

Even though the wedding will not be happening, Sarah pointed out that friends and family members are still planning to bond this weekend to show their support.

"Bristol and Dakota couldn't be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding. They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held. Many friends and family still look forward to getting together that day in Kentucky anyway," the political activist added to her social media post.
