'Supernatural' Season 11: Will Jared Padalecki Return? Rumors Cleared Up With Statement

The CW drama will return this fall, and co-executive producer Jim Michaels recently announced just how many episodes season 11 will entail.

"#Supernatural Season 11 WILL have 23 episodes! That is our official order! @cw_spn #spnfamily," Michaels tweeted on Thursday.

Unfortunately, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) do not yet have a premiere date. While the hell-atus may not have a definitive end date, previous seasons indicate that viewers can expect to catch up with Moose and Squirrel in an early October.

"My Brother's Keeper," the season 10 finale, left all members of the SPNfamily in a state of mortal peril. The Winchester bros. managed to 86 Cain's pesky brand, but the cure came at a terrifying price. "The Darkness," whatever that may be, is now loose in the world, heading towards Baby and her cargo like a demo infused tornado. As the boys try to whether the initial impact from inside the Impala, Cas (Misha Collins) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) have their own problems to attend to. An extremely irate Rowena (Ruth Connell) skipped town at the end of the finale, but not before she slapped Cas with the guard dog spell and some very specific instructions to off one troublesome King of Hell.
