The new series, set in Los Angeles during the time when Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) of the original show was in a coma, focuses on new characters and storylines as the zombie outbreak first begins.  The series is set to mainly follow the story of Travis (Curtis) and Madison (Dickens) and their relationship as the outbreak continues to spread and effect their everyday lives.

"And then one of the things that really excites me about this show is the fact that this is a show about two people who are a team, and they do back each other up. They do love and respect each other. They're a happy couple, which is something that you don't see a lot of on cable television these days."
