The universe just keeps getting bigger and bigger for the humans of Falling Skies.

'Falling Skies' Season 5: Major Death Teased By Cast [POLL], There Will Be Tears

First there was the Skitters, the Mechs, and the Espheni. Then the Volm rolled in with a promise of help. Now, as season 5 begins, Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) will have to deal with yet another extraterrestrial.

The season 4 finale left the Mason patriarch floating in space with his mysterious new saviors, and the upcoming premiere will start to shed a little light on the creatures Tom has dubbed "beautiful."

'Falling Skies' Season 5: It's 'All About The Spikes', Sarah Carter Dishes On The New Maggie

"It's coming back and it's going to be pivotal to this final season," Drew Roy (Hal) said of the unseen ET, according to Connected Digital World. "As with most of the aliens when they first show up, we don't know if it is good or bad. I'd say, from right at the beginning of the first episode, you're going to find out a lot more about it but it's still going to be shrouded in mystery for a little while."

Moon Bloodgood (Anne) also weighed in on the issue, warning fans that the newbies will have a very intense connection with one member of the Second Mass. Or, alternately, with Lexi, because apparently her collision with the moon didn't wipe her out of the series entirely.

"That alien has a very specific relationship with a certain character," Bloodgood told Connected Digital World. "Then there is a lot of foreshadowing, things that this alien kind of shows this character what's going to happen."
