There are many reasons to get excited about the new season of American Horror Story, but this is what Enstars is looking forward to the most.

Sarah Paulson Wins Big Award For 'American Horror Story'

The fifth season of American Horror Story, titled Hotel, is shaping up to possibly be one of the best ever based on the cast alone. With several stars joining the already great cast of repertory players, we can't wait to see everyone interacting onscreen.

Here are our top five things we're most looking forward to in American Horror Story: Hotel.

Evan Peters Is Already Scared Of The New 'American Horror Story' Season

5. (Possible) return to present day

-
It has not been officially confirmed, but FX president John Landgraf said at TCA Press Tour this year that he wants the show to return to present day for Hotel. When asked about if it would, Landgraf said, "that's my hope, yeah." The anthology series has featured modern day settings every other year, and we are due for another. While going back in time is always fun, it will also be refreshing to see characters that reflect our current society.

4. Emergence of new stars

-
Jessica Lange has been a huge part of the success of American Horror Story but now her time has ended. There is no indication if other stars like Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy or Emma Roberts are returning either. So while the show still has Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Angela Bassett there are mostly new stars in the cast. From Lady Gaga to Max Greenfield, Hotel could be a good opportunity to create something unique and interesting, compared to Freak Show which mostly relied on the same group of stars.

3. Sarah Paulson playing a "bad girl"

-
Paulson has been the heart of the show since her starring role as Lana Winters in Asylum but she has mostly played characters on the side of good. AHS boss Ryan Murphy recently tweeted that Paulson will be playing "the baddest bad girl" in Hotel, suggesting a possibly huge departure from her regular type of performance. It will be very exciting to see Paulson potentially become a villain.

2. The setting

-
If The Shining is any indication, hotels have the capacity to be some of the scariest places in the world. There is truly no limit to how much crazy, campy horror that can be contained in a hotel, especially a haunted one. Ghost tenants, serial killers, evil maids, creepy kids - anything is possible in a hotel, so we expect the show to really run wild with the concept.

1. Lady Gaga

-
It goes without saying that Gaga joining AHS was a huge shock to the singer's fans and AHS fans alike. A huge global superstar, Gaga is making her first major TV acting appearance with Hotel and anticipation is high. It remains to be seen how substantial her role will be, but her presence alone is very exciting, especially in the wake of Lange's departure. If she really nails her role, this could be the start of a brand new career for Gaga, who has mostly been known for her musicianship. Considering Gaga's flair for the dramatic, we think she'll fit right in on American Horror Story.
