Cameron Bure detailed her Dancing With the Stars experience in her new book Dancing Through Life: Steps of Courage and Conviction, up for sale on Aug. 1. In an excerpt from the book revealed by Entertainment Weekly, Cameron Bure discusses how she was courted by so many reality shows but only chose to say yes to DWTS.

"I had been asked to do just about every single reality show up to that point and I said no to all of them because it was just never a space I wanted to be in, except for Dancing with the Stars. From the first season, I said 'This was the one I would say yes to,'" she writes.

The Full House actress was partnered with Mark Ballas during the spring 2014 season and together they made it all the way to third place, only being beaten by the runner-up couple Amy Purdy and Derek Hough and the winning couple Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy.

In her book, Cameron Bure gives some words of wisdom to any celebrity about to go out and display themselves on a reality show.

"Definitely be yourself. An audience can relate to you the most when you're open and you're honest," she advises. "I don't hide anything because I think when we're honest and we're open and see a transparency, that's when we really learn from each other."

Dancing With the Stars returns for a new season in the fall on ABC, though the network has not yet revealed a specific premiere date.
