The Vampire Diaries Season 6 finale that aired last month was very dramatic as clear sides were formed between the Salvatore brothers Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and their mother Lily (Annie Wersching).

'The Vampire Diaries' Going Back To Season 1 Roots With 'Sassy' Damon?

In the finale, Lily was reunited with her heretic pals who are sure to unleash havoc in Mystic Falls throughout Season 7.

Executive producer Caroline Dries previously revealed to TVLinethat with this divide between the siblings and their mother, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) would become torn about where his loyalties should be.

Will Stefan 'Take To The Role Of A Hero' In 'The Vampire Diaries' Next Season?

Enzo and Damon have a complicated history, as does Enzo with Lily. He seems to be "drawn to Lily" since she is the vampire responsible for turning him from human to vampire. Plus, Enzo had it out for Stefan for quite some time, but will his friendship with the older Salvatore sibling keep him on their side?

E! Online reported Tuesday some more scoop on this impending situation, which seems to allude to Caroline (Candice Accola) weighing in Enzo's looming decision.

Dries told the entertainment site, "I'm really looking forward to how Enzo gets put in the middle of Lily's heretic world and the Damon/Mystic Falls/Caroline world in season seven."

Dries didn't flat out say Caroline is definitely an imminent part in Enzo's decision, but she did mention Caroline, which is interesting since the divide is between the Salvatore brothers and their mom. Does this mean Caroline is going to play a major part in this brewing war that's going to go down in Mystic Falls?

Enzo and Caroline tend to have this back and forth, which will hopefully continue in the forthcoming season. Perhaps Caroline will be able to help guide Enzo in his decision, but either way there will "be some major fallout."

The series returns to The CW in the fall for Season 7.
