Season 7 of The Good Wife is really stocking up on new characters and the latest addition is Margo Martindale.

The Good Wife Renewed For Two More Seasons?   

Deadline reported that the actress, who is known for her work on Justified and The Americans, will have a recurring role as a "campaign operative responsible for past successes by underdog presidential candidates in Iowa who hides her intelligence and cunning under a fake, folksy charm." Martindale has won an Emmy for her performance on Justified and has also been nominated for the prestigious award for her guest starring role on The Americans.

The most recent addition to the cast was Extant star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who will be be batting for Alicia's team. The actor has been cast as the new private investigator for Alicia's firm.

Critics Unforgiving Of Controversial Season 6 Finale Scene Of The Good Wife   

There is still no word on who will replace Kalinda for Cary Agos Lee, but she will sure be given tough competition by Alicia's new private eye. CBS has described the new character as "a calm, experienced hourly investigator." Morgan is perhaps best known for his role as Denny Duquette in Grey's Anatomy.

The next chapter of the legal drama is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.

The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
