In a Thanksgiving match, the Houston Texans (9-1) will face off against the Detroit Lions (4-6).
The Texans, who currently sit atop the AFC, will attempt to extend their current four-game winning streak in a showdown on Turkey Day.
On the heels of an underachieving performance on Sunday, the Houston defenders won't have much time to prepare themselves for another hurdle. It's a strong possibility that their defense may face another test against the Lions, who are ranked second in the NFL with 401.7 yards per game.
While the Texans possess one of the league's best overall defenses with 18.0 points and 299.2 yards allowed per game, they did struggle to limit the last place Jacksonville Jaguars in a 43-37 overtime win. Houston also gave up a season-high 458 yards as Jacksonville's backup quarterback Chad Henne passed for 354 of them.
"We obviously didn't play up to our standard," coach Gary Kubiak explained to ESPN. "We gave up big plays. We had a few assignment issues, which is unusual for us. That's something we've got to fix."
To make matters worst, the Texans may be without the services of Pro Bowler Johnathan Joseph in the game. Joseph was removed from Sunday's game due to a hamstring injury. Whether the star cornerback will play or not will be a game time decision.
"He's got a strain, but it's a slight strain. It's just (dependent on) how he reacts to it," Kubiak said.
While the Lions sport one of the NFL's most elite offenses, history is definitely not on their side; Detroit hasn't been victorious on Thanksgiving Day in nine years.
