Raven Symone might be remembered for her child star days, which turned her into one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood- so why did she walk away from it?

Raven Symone Reveals Plans For 2015

On Saturday, People posted an interview with the former actress who is now a co-host on The View. She opened up on her life as a small child on successful TV series' like The Cosby Show and Hangin' With Mr. Cooper when her life pretty much became about that only.

"I needed a break," she told the publication. "I needed to grow up. I needed a moment to breathe."

The actress mentioned that it was "fun" working on Mr. Cooper, but she still wanted to be a kid.

"I hated filming on Fridays," she recalled. "I was like, 'I don't want to work. I want to [go home and] watch Family Matters."

When these days were over, Symone became a Disney Channel star, which was also pretty tough. So it got the point where she realized that sticking in the acting industry just wasn't for her.

"I realized there had been a plan for me since I was a baby," she said. "There was a bucket list that I didn't create, but I just kept checking things off. So I added, 'I want to be the youngest person in my world to retire.'"

With acting behind her, Symone is satisfied where she is right now.

"I've done a lot of things in life that I've just had to smile through," she said. "But now, I'm living for myself."
