Fans of the Blue Mountain State TV series were finally rewarded for their loyalty to the series with the release of the highly-anticipated movie Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland—but did the movie open up a possibility for the show to be revived?

'BMS' Movie Is Officially On Netflix

The original series was cancelled from Spike after just three seasons, and the film was funded through a Kickstarter fundraiser, though it still took until this year for the final product to be released after countless delays and holdups. But was it good enough to give fans a real treat like a revived series?

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

The possibility that the show could be revived again was first floated around back in September of last year, when a Reddit AMA with the producers of the show, as well as stars Romanski and Alan Ritchson revealed that there had been talk of bringing the series back as they continued hammering out the negotiations for the film itself.

Release Date Confirmed For 'BMS" Movie

"I don't know much more than you do about the release, when/where etc.," Ritchson said at the time. "But I can say this...There is a lot of talk going on behind the scenes about bringing the show back..Something we're excited about."

However, nothing has been mentioned since about the possibility of a show revival since. And unfortunately, the movie's ending probably has squashed all possibility of that happening. The premise of the movie, which was to save the Goat House, saw the plan for Thad to buy it not pay off, and the gang blew it up instead. With no Goat House, there would be no place for the Mountain Goats to hang out.

The cast has not revealed any future plans.
