Fans are nearly at a point of giving up any hope they'll get to see Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland in theaters anytime soon, but there may be a bit of good news for them despite that.

Is Lionsgate Holding Up The Release of The 'BMS' Movie?

It appears that there is a chance that the show could be brought back to the small screen after the movie issues are all sorted out, according to comments on a recent Reddit feed by one of the film's producers, as well as stars Alan Ritchson and Romanski.

Initially the news seemed grim as Romanski and the producer seemed to suggest that the film wouldn't be getting a big theatrical release anymore because Lionsgate wasn't sure what they wanted to do with it exactly.

Alan Ritchson Gives 'BMS' Fans An Update

"It's Romanski, Co-Creator and Sammy on BMS! I'm hijacking this motherf--ers," Romanski wrote. "Suck all my d---s. We waiting on new from Lionsgate on release date. Who do you c--kteases want to know?"

The producer gave more insight, though the news still wasn't overly exciting for fans because it did mean more waiting.

:...The latest news is...There isn't really any ground breaking news yet. Lionsgate is figuring out how they want to release it. There's a good chance it will go straight digital (Netflix etc) ather than theatrical, but we'll see," he wrote. "Everything is finished, and a trailer is being cut as we speak, just waiting on that giant corporation to decide what to do with it."

However, when Ritchson joined in on the chat, he did give fans the possibly amazing news that the show could be revived because of the movie-and a new step had been taken as far as the movie was concerned, with a first cut of the trailer finally being handed off to the crew.

"...I don't know much more than you do about the release, when/where etc.," he admitted. "But I can say this...There is a lot of talk going on behind the scenes about bringing the show back .Something we're excited about. Also, just got the first cut of the first trailer about an hour ago. Omg I can't wait for you to see this."

It is unclear as of yet about any other updates regarding the movie.
