Julianne Hough may not have been involved in this past season of Dancing With the Stars, but she's not ruling out a return in some form.

Hough spoke recently about whether she would come back to Dancing With the Stars anytime soon, confirming that she will always be part of the dance competition.

"Not as a dancer, for sure. As far as a judge, maybe," she told Access Hollywood, of a return to DWTS. "We've still got a couple more months left of the summer. Regardless, I'm always gonna be part of the show - it's my family. It's where I came from. Whether it's as a judge or in some form I'm sure I'll be back in the ballroom at some point."

Hough rose to prominence through Dancing With the Stars as a pro in the mid-2000s. She won her first two seasons on the show, with Apolo Anton Ohno and Hélio Castroneves, respectively. She would compete in three more seasons after this before exploring other career opportunities. She then came back for season 19 as a judge, as well as the following two seasons.

It's possible that Hough could even be invited back as a guest judge, as the show has increasingly included a fourth guest judge on some weeks over the past few seasons.

Meanwhile, there's one person who you most definitely won't see in the ballroom, and that's Bear Grylls. The survivalist was interviewed alongside Hough and admitted that Dancing With the Stars is one environment he won't be exploring.

"I will be in many places but never in the ballroom," Grylls said. "The wild has told me, know your limits and choose your battlegrounds. I found my limits and that is not my battleground!"

Hough will next be seen on Running Wild With Bear Grylls for the upcoming premiere episode set for Monday, Aug. 1.

Dancing With the Stars season 23 premieres Monday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
