One of the more popular actors to have played Batman in the past thinks that Ben Affleck will be good in the role, despite having no vested interest in the subject.

Ben Affleck's Batman Could Be A 'Step Ahead' Of Christian Bale

Michael Keaton, who played the titular character in 1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns, recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Affleck taking over the role for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While he is confident in Affleck's abilities, Keaton does not seem to care one way or the other.

"I mean, people are asking me, 'Is Ben Affleck going to be any good?' And my attitude is, First of all, why would you ask me? Second, he's probably going to be very good, and third, frankly, it's all set up now so that you're weirdly kind of safe," he said.

"Once you get in those suits, they really know what to do with you. It was hard then; it ain't that hard now."

Discussing the various film adaptations of Batman, Keaton admitted that he's never seen The Dark Knight movies in their entirety.

"[The Dark Knight director] Chris Nolan is great, but I've never seen any of the Batman movies all the way through. I know they're good. I just have zero interest in those kinds of movies," he admitted.

Keaton is starring in the much buzzed about new film Birdman, about an actor who can't seem to escape his Birdman alter ego he played in the movies a long time ago. The film has, of course, been compared to Keaton's own career trajectory.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
