The petition for a Witches of East End renewal has gained a massive amount of signatures in the past month.

As of July 8, the petition was holding about 149,000 signatures from fans who were still hoping the former Lifetime series could be brought back for new episodes. And now as of August 1, there are more than 195,000 signatures, leaving the petition at approximately 13,000 people signing per week.

While this could definitely give hope for chances of a renewal, there have not been any big news items lately on the series being brought back. In fact, the odds of the show getting new episodes might be a little slim since one of its main stars has signed on for a new program.

'Witches Of East End' Petition Doubles Its Amount Of Weekly Signatures

On Thursday, The Wrap announced that Julia Ormond, who played Joanna on the supernatural drama, will be in a thriller pilot called Incorporated. The new series stars a young male executive who risks everything in a corporate world to save the woman he loves. Ormond will play the man's mother-in-law who is described as a "powerful top executive who enjoys the perks of her position, but is also trapped in a ruthless system that demands results."

While this sounds like good news for the actress, this might ruin the chances of Witches coming back. But considering that there haven't been a lot of headlines on the former witchy drama, perhaps those chances are gone anyway.
