Oprah Winfrey continued one of her many legacies on Wednesday by announcing the latest selection for her world famous book club.

Winfrey is now calling the phenomenon Oprah's Book Club 2.0. Since her long-running series "The Oprah Winfrey Show" went off the air in 2011, the television icon has given the book club a more digital presence and even releases special e-reader editions of the books she chooses that come with her personal notes.

Oprah chose Cheryl Strayed's memoir "Wild" as the very first Book Club 2.0 selection, and on Wednesday she happily announced its successor - "The Twelve Tribes of Hattie," the debut novel from author Ayana Mathis.

"I have found it!" Winfrey said excitedly in a video on her website. "It has taken me a while, but I never choose a book club selection unless I really, really love the book and I am sure you will too."

Winfrey's video was filled with praise of Mathis, and she added that she was immediately hooked into the novel from the very moment she started reading.

"The opening chapter, it just floored me," Winfrey said. "Absolutely floored me."

Winfrey also expressed her admiration for Mathis for achieving such a monumental success in her first novel ever.

"This book touched me so deeply. The sprit of sacred truths just leaps from the pages," Oprah said. "I knew I was having the privilege of watching a great author's career begin."

Fans can read the book along with Winfrey and participate in discussions on her official website and check out an interview with Mathis which will appear in the January issue of O, The Oprah Magazine.

Winfrey is set for an on-camera sit-down with the author during a Feb. 3 episode of "Super Soul Sunday," which will air on OWN on the morning of the Super Bowl.
