Not only will Fear The Walking Dead give the first real look at how the zombie apocalypse started, but it may also give fans of the universe a real first look at just how quickly everything seemed to go to the worst case scenario.

New Photo Shows Reasons To Be Scared Of New Zombie Apocalypse

In the newest teaser for the companion series to The Walking Dead, nothing really new is revealed of the plot, nor are any interactions between characters revealed. However, the short 30-second clip, which shows a Los Angeles on the brink of panic, still manages to speak volumes about how quickly the world changed when the dead took over--something that wasn't quite so easily grasped in TWD, which picked up the apocalypse action months after it began.

In the teaser, things appear to be normal in L.A., with the city's lights all queued up and the headlights of cars rushing into and out of the city through the highway glowing as they move. But in a matter of seconds, it all changes.

One by one, certain power grids begin to go dark, extinguishing more and more of the city's lights. The scene suddenly appears to be a more dangerous ones as sirens are heard and fires begin to burn seemingly everywhere-including one lit up to read the word FEAR.

Suddenly, the city is quiet and seemingly full of destruction-a big change from what it was just moments before.

The new series stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alicia Debnam-Carey. It premieres August 23 on AMC.
