Supernatural's Castiel will make a bloody entrance in season 11.

'Supernatural' Season 11: Misha Collins Speaks Out On Charlie's Death, LGBT & Female Representation

Grace or no grace, Castiel (Misha Collins) will still fall victim to Rowena's (Ruth Connell) attack dog spell as season 11 begins. Meant to merely be a short-lived pawn in Rowena's game, Cas will buck the witch's plan when the spell doesn't quite go as planned.

Instead of offing Crowley (Mark Sheppard) and quickly dropping dead as a result, the Winchester's wingman will keep on kicking as the fall run wears on. There's one unfortunate caveat, however. Rowena's magic will keep a tight hold on it's victim well past the premiere.

'Supernatural' Season 11: Death's Demise Causes 'Issues''; EP Teases Opening Episodes

"Castiel picks up season 11 right where things left off at the end of season 10. He's suffering from the effects of the attack dog spell; he's not doing well," Collins informed Wedonoplois at San Diego Comic-Con. "It's not affecting him exactly in the same manner that it affects a human, but it does affect him in a very adverse manner. It's something that he's coping with for quite some time."

Evidence of his predicament rests in a set photo for episode 3, "Bad Seed." The actor is seen with crazy blood shoot eyes, a clear sign of the attack dog spell.

It is unknown what Cas will be up to in the interim, but another BTS pic from episode 2 indicates that he will spill plenty of blood while controlled by Rowena's magic.

Supernatural will return to The CW on Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
