The San Francisco 49ers (8-3) will host the Miami Dolphins (5-7) at Candlestick Park in a Sunday afternoon matchup. Coach Jim Harbaugh will once again give the ball to Colin Kaepernick as the team's original QB Alex Smith remains on the sidelines in stand-by mode.

San Francisco, who certainly remains in playoff contention, will take the gridiron against a Dolphins team that's seen its postseason aspirations rapidly diminish after losing four out of its last five games.

In last week's matchup versus the St. Louis Rams, Kaepernick's turnover on a failed pitch led the team to a touchdown and a two-point conversion to tie the game. However, the team still ended up on the losing end by a score of 16-13 in overtime.

The respective blunder undoubtedly took away from an otherwise exceptional performance by the promising signal caller, who was 21 of 32 for 208 yards while rushing for 84 extra.

"Can't make mistakes. That's the biggest thing. For the most part I felt my reads were good, got through progressions as well. That's something I want to continue to do going forward," Kaepernick told ESPN.

The phenom quarterback will indeed get the opportunity to progress once again when he goes up against Miami. Kaepernick first took over the helm at QB after Smith went down with a concussion on Nov. 11.

"Just a winning quarterback performance in tough circumstances. In the evaluation, I thought Colin played well, did a lot of really good things, made some good decisions. I thought some real positives to take away from his performance," Harbaugh said.

"We've got faith and trust in Colin in the way he's played. Therefore, (he'll get) another start this week," the coach added.
